On Google Play, for Android phones running Android 8.0 or newer. It's free.
Do I need an account?
No. LOOP gives you a random ID. There's no phone number, email or password.
Does LOOP work on iPhone?
Not yet. LOOP is for Android phones running Android 8.0 or newer.
Is it free?
Yes. No ads, and your data is never sold.
Who can use it?
People aged 18 and over.
Privacy
Can someone see me without me knowing?
No. Every request needs your yes, unless you chose “Always” for that person, and you get a receipt each time either way.
What does LOOP store about me?
Very little, and never your location. The data safety page lists everything, and the privacy policy has the details.
How do I delete my data?
In the app: Settings → Delete my Loop. Without the app, see Delete your data.
Using LOOP
Does it drain my battery?
No. Nothing runs in the background. One reading is taken only when someone asks.
What if I change phones?
Make a backup in Settings and restore it on the new phone. Your ID and your people come with you.
Can I share only an approximate location?
Yes. For each person you can choose Exact or Approximate (about 1 km).
What happens in an emergency?
Hold the SOS button for a moment: everyone in your LOOP gets your exact location with a loud alert, even if sharing is paused. You can call 112 from the same screen.
